On 3 October 2022, Dr. Patom Sawanpanyalert, M.D., Ph.D., General director of Department of Science Service (DSS), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and the DSS executives paid respect to the statue of H.M. King Rama IV (Phra Bat Somdet Phra Menthora Ramathibodi Sri Sinthara Mahamakut Phra Mongkut Phra Siam Deva Mahamakut Wittaya Maharaj) at the MHESI building and the Phra Phrom Shrine in front of the Tua Lapanukom building as well as the Narayana statue. For the gratefulness, this ceremony was prepared at the beginning of the next fiscal year 2023.

The Bureau of Laboratory Accreditation, Department of Science Service (BLA-DSS), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation has been accepted as a signatory to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Mutual Recognition Arrangement (ILAC MRA) in the scope of proficiency testing provider (PTP), since 7th October 2019.

               Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC) arranged a workshop on “RMP and PTP Accreditation” in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China on 7th – 10th November 2016. There were 32 representatives from 22 accreditation bodies joining the workshop. The primary aim of the workshop is to create a comprehension of an ISO 17034 revision for the accreditation bodies in the region according to the APLAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) in order to assess the reference material producers. Moreover, the workshop also aims to support the APLAC full members for accreditations of laboratories, reference material (RM) producers, and proficiency testing (PT) providers. Bureau of Laboratory Accreditation - Department of Science Service (BLA-DSS), an APLAC full member, also participated in the workshop. The DSS representative not only presented the laboratory accreditation activities, but also shared the experience with regard to the accreditations of the RM producers and the PT providers, especially the frequently found corrective action requests.  

      On 28^th November 2016, Dr. Suthiweth T. Saengchantara, Director-General of the Department of Science Service (DSS) presided over the workshop on “Enhancing laboratory performance in the central region of Thailand”. The workshop was held on 28^th-29^th November 2016 at the Classic Kameo Hotel & Serviced Apartments, Ayutthaya. The workshop aims to promote the government’s economic reform policy and the national development strategy according to the national economic and social development plan. The workshop met the requirements of the small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Totally 150 entrepreneurs attended the workshop.
