Responsibilities : Center for ASEAN Food Contact Materials Testing
- Missions of ASEAN Food Reference Laboratory for Food Contact Materials (AFRL) are described as follows:
1.1 Providing the technical training programs on testing of food contact materials and contaminants caused by food contact materials to ASEAN member countries (AMC).
1.2 Coordinating/organizing the proficiency testing activities or inter-laboratory comparisons in the ASEAN region.
1.3 Acting as the information center for certified reference materials (CRMs), test method, and proficiency testing program.
1.4 Establishing the network between ASEAN member countries for technical information exchange and collaboration. - Testing properties and safety of food contact materials.
- Issuing the Certificate of Analysis (COA) for food contact materials to exporters/producers.
- Developing the capabilities of testing laboratories for food contact materials.
- Researching and developing the testing methodologies for controlling the quality and safety of food contact materials.
- Cooperating with the internal and external organizations to provide training and transfer knowledge about regulation and testing of food contact materials.
- Coordinating or supporting the operation of other related agencies.
- Joining the committees or working groups on the academic subjects in Thailand and other countries.
- Performing other assignments.
