DSS, Ministry of Science Cooperate with EGAT in Electrical Appliance Testing under the Label no.5 Electricity Saving Project for Highly Efficient Energy Consumption

 On 16 September 2015 Dr. Suthiweth T. Saengchantara Director-General of Department of Science Service and Mr. Soonchai Kumnoonsate governor of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand have signed the cooperative agreement between Department of Science Service (DSS) and Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) to test the ventilating-type of electric fans under the Label no.5 Electricity Saving Project which aims to encourage Thailand efficient energy consumption and environmental protection. Dr. Kurujit Nakornthap Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Energy was a witness in the signing ceremony at The Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok.

Dr. Suthiweth said “DSS has cooperated in testing the ventilating-type of electric fans No. 5 which is the label to guarantee the preservation and highest efficiency of electrical appliances. EGAT informed that the project provided 1,400,000 labels among 2012 – 2015. This signing held to have continued collaboration. The purpose is collaborative networks in electrical appliance testing under the Label no.5 Electricity Saving Project which is a part to promote the highly effective and economical energy utilization and environment preservation of the country; and encourage all sectors to realize the importance of an energy resource which is a fundamental factor of the country’s economic growth. On a scope of the cooperation DSS provide testing services for energy efficiency of the ventilating-type of alternating-current (AC) electric fans according to the EGAT’s request. The action plans and practical guidelines will be prepared together for the convenient and quick sending of samples and testing reports to meet the requirements.”
