Automated Meniscus Leveling System for Volumetric Glassware Calibration

The objective is to reduce the measurement error caused by visual reading of the meniscus (human error) and increase the accuracy of calibrating instruments such as pipettes.

  • Definition and Scope: It is an instrument that utilizes motor-driven technology and real-time image processing to precisely adjust the liquid meniscus level inside a pipette without the need for human sight.
  • Key Features:
    • Automatic meniscus leveling using a motorized system.
    • Real-time display of the meniscus level via a digital camera.
    • Controlled through software directly connected to the hardware.
  • Application: Suitable for both government and private volumetric glassware calibration laboratories that require high accuracy and reduced workload for operators.
