System Management Section
The section is responsible for administrating government letters, drafting interactive dispatch, store, finding documents and regulations, reporting performance result, collecting monthly performance statistics, preparing of annual budget, monitoring spending budget and coordinating and resolving problems during the operation of the responsible unit.

General Physics and Engineering Section (1)
The section is responsible for testing electrical, optical, mass and dimensional properties of materials and products; and developing methods for physical and engineering testing of relevant materials and products. The products under the testing service e.g. the electrical product, traffic sign, license plate, automotive window film, thermal insulator, etc.

General Physics and Engineering Section (2)
The section is responsible for testing the chemical, physical and mechanical properties of products and materials. The constructional material, metal and pressure resistance product are examples of relevant products and materials. The aims of testing are for the quality control, import-export, product certification and product quality improvement. The section is also responsible for developing new testing methods to improve relevant products. The products and materials under the testing service e.g. the cement, concrete , steel bar, steel deformed bar, steel fabricated product, fire extinguisher, fire extinguishing hose, PVC pipe , rubber pipe, etc.

Technology Product Section
The section is responsible for testing the composition and properties (i.e. physical, chemical and mechanical properties) of rubber and plastic to gain information prior to certify the product quality. The research work to develop the testing methods of rubber and plastic materials is also considered as group responsibilities. The examples of products under the testing service are the rubber glove, insulating material, PVC tube, etc.

Environment Section
The section is responsible for testing the pollutants from wastewater, solid waste, and contaminated air. Also occupational monitoring in working environment is provided. The research work which focuses on environmental quality management and treatment of toxic pollutants is considered as group responsibilities. The examples of testing parameters are following:

Wastewater:  BOD, COD, pH, Heavy metals and etc.

Solid waste: Heavy metals

Contaminated air: TSP, toxic gases, heavy metals, etc.

Occupational monitoring:  Leq, WBGT, light intensity, etc

Calibration Section
The section is responsible for procuring and maintaining metrological instruments, measurement standards, references standards, and reference materials.  This is to disseminate their reference values to calibration / testing laboratories through calibration processes. This section provides calibration and measurement in the fields of the Mass and Volume, Length and Dimension, Force and Hardness, Temperature and Humidity, Pressure and Vibration, Electrical, and Physical and Chemical reference material.

Pulp and paper Section
Pulp and paper group is responsible for analytical testing for pulp and paper industries, from raw materials, pulp and paper products to wastewater (AOX). This group also provides calibration services and technical consultation, involving pulp and paper, for both government and private organizations.

Science Equipment Service Section
The section is responsible for acquiring, installing, constructing, and maintaining scientific instruments, laboratory glassware, and other relevant test and analysis instruments. The group responsibilities also include the registration of in-house scientific instruments, manuals, and advisory on instrument operation.

Advanced Precision Scientific Instrument Development Section
The section is responsible for developing precision scientific instruments and tools by applying robotic and automation technologies in order to improve the efficiency or enhance the capability of the testing and calibration processes. It also conducts engineering researches to provide beneficial solutions in the fields of renewable energy and field explorations.

Glass Expert Laboratory
The laboratory is responsible for testing glass and related products according to domestic and international standard. Examples of testing are the acquisition of glass viscosity by using beam bending and fiber elongation, the acquisition of coefficient of thermal expansion by dilatometer, and the implementation of proven analytical methods to search for glass imperfection and cause of breaking.
