The Bureau of Laboratory Accreditation consists of 4 sections
Laboratory Accreditation Section
The Laboratory Accreditation Section is responsible for providing a testing laboratory accreditation according to ISO/IEC 17025 and Proficiency Testing Provider accreditation according to ILAC-G13 and ISO/IEC Guide 43-1. The aims of its responsibilities for potentiality and competency improvement of the laboratory in order to accomplish Mutual Recognition Arrangement by international economics.
Activities
Activity 1 to provide an accreditation service for testing laboratories and accomplish Mutual Recognition Arrangement
Activity 2 to promote, support and upgrade the laboratory within Thailand by setting up educational management systems
and related technical training programmes including the implement and continuous improvement of laboratory quality assurance.
Activity 3 to provide testing laboratory accreditation service according to ISO/IEC 17025 for scopes in the fields
of Physical Testing, Chemical Testing and Biological Testing eg. Sugar and sugar products, Foods, Animal feeds
and related products, Food packaging and related materials, Natural rubber and rubber products, Shoes and leather
products, Plastic products, Ceramic and glass products, Chemical (non-pharmaceutical products), Petrochemical products
(intermediate and downstream), Environment, Paper making and paper products and others.
Activity 4 to provide Proficiency Testing Provider accreditation service according to ILAC-G13 and ISO/IEC Guide 43-1 for scopes in the fields of calibration, testing and medical testing.
Proficiency Testing Section
The Proficiency Testing Section is responsible for organizing proficien
testing programs following international standard.The proficiency testing
programs include serveral technicques, i.e. chemistry, biochemistry,
electrochemistry, physics, and microbiology.The programs also help
strengthening competence of the laboratories who have participated.

Laboratory Performance Database Section
The responsibilities of Laboratory Performance Database Section are
according to the following Conducted a survey of the scientific
laboratories. Access laboratory database and create laboratory indicess

Information and Promotion Section
Whose function involves
providing information relating to laboratory quality system, training
courses such as laboratory quality system and being accessor and other
knowledge and information concerning laboratory system.The goal of this
section is to develop networking system of laboratories in Thailand, as well as
producing information leaflets and publication.
