Bureau of Community Technology (BCT) conducts studies and researches focusing on ceramic food, pulp and paper, material science etc. in the way to develop the production processes, to improve quality of raw material and finished product, which are finally transferred to make use by public. Research and Development are considered to solve the country's problems. BCT thus intends to build up the potential and to improve productivity of Agro-industry and Small and Medium Scale Sectors (SMEs). Therefore the country could be sustainable developed.

Bureau of Community Technology (BCT) was established by the Ministry of Science and Technology Ministerial Regulation of 2002, the aim objectives are study , research and development on Science and Technology in the main area, as well as transfer technology to public sectors towards benefit to national economic and social development.

1. To promote, support and conduct the research and development to meet the requirement in science and technology by community, as well as to improve life quality.
2. Linkage through government sectors, private sectors and people to transfer technology.
3. To conduct the Research and Development focusing on Ceramic and Glass technology.
4. To analyze and test raw materials and products of ceramic and glass.
5. To promote and conduct technology transfer on ceramic and glass.
6. To conduct research and development focusing on agricultural product processing to enhance productivity of community sectors.
7. To collaborate and support the operation of other related organizations.
